The following weeks we are going to work with something called mindset; your mental attitude. We do this to practice English of course but also because having the right mindset can make big changes not only in school but in life as a whole.

Episode one - A secret about the brain

Week 36: Reading comprehension + Essay

We read a text about the same topic:

We write a short essay about what we've learned about growth mindset. You won't have any material to your help so you must remember the most important things and words. Try to write as much as you can, describe and explain and give examples from the films or your own experiences.The text will have this content and structure:

Title of your essay: You can grow your intelligence
    • The most important wisdom learned in working with growth mindset is...
      • Try using the word 'neuron' in your explanation.
    • When you make mistakes and feel a task is too difficult you should...
      • Try to use the words 'challenge' and 'yet' + try to explain what 'the dip' is.

Before you hand in check:

Bedömning.

You will write a short essay about the content in the film clips and the reading comprehension. This will be evaluated by your teacher, who looks at how well you express yourself in written production and if you can express yourself with ease and adapt your language to the situation. The teacher also compares to your earlier work and sees if you have made improvements.
