On tour!

You are the guide on a (super) tour bus taking tourists around an English speaking country of your choice.

Introduction

When you are on a vacation and go on a sightseeing tour you expect there to be a guide telling you about what you see. 

When visiting museums and exhibitions today, you often get a set of headphones that give you information about the exhibit. 

 

You are the guide on a tour (super)bus taking a bunch of tourists around a country of your choice. The only thing that you need to think of is that the country must be an English-speaking one.

What's on the tour?

When you have started the tour by welcoming your paying guests to the country and your (super)bus and given them any other useful information about whatever you can come up with it is time to start the tour.

And this is what you need to include

A famous restaurant
The restaurant can be completely made up, but this will give you an opportunity to talk about the country's food and hopefully make some comparisons to your own experiences.

The place where the government sits
Talk about how this country is governed and make a brief comparison to the Swedish structure.

A statue of an important person
Choose wisely among important politicians, artists, inventors - Someone who has meant a lot to the country and perhaps to us and you.

A school
What kind of bus would tour a school? Your (super)bus. The reason for this is of course that you give a comparison between the country's school system and ours.

Anything else that you would like to add about the local culture, such as music, movies, books or whatever interest you.

Work in pairs

Help each other with the preparations and contents of your tours.

You could also use each other to ask questions like: “Who is that statue of?” and "Why are you wearing that huge comboy hat?".

Be smart and team up with someone who you will do good work with! If you absolutely want to work on your own that's ok as long as you talk to me first. 

Keep in mind

While you're working on your assignement, remember to keep an eye on the matrices. 

Record your voice and somehow send it to [e-mail] or share it with [e-mail]. Your (super)tour should take between 5-10 minutes.
