Reading Project: "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury

This is a reading project, where you will learn how to tackle a fictional short story by Ray Bradbury called "All Summer in a Day". With the help of your teacher, you will learn several different reading strategies that will help you understand the livelihood of Venus's new inhabitants!

In this project, we will work with how to use different reading strategies to better understand fictional stories and to answer the more difficult questions that might appear in the national tests. Some of the strategies are inspired by the five reading roles - the fortune teller, the detective, the reporter, the cowboy and the artist - and some by the other types of reading techniques such as shallow reading, search reading and in-depth reading. All of the assignments you do will both function as your notes and as assessment material. 

The theme of the current short story will take on a bigger role at the end of the project, where the students will compare how the theme is presented in the short story and in a movie. The text should then have both the differences and the similarities between the short story and the movie when it comes to the theme.
