Music History - Oral Presentation

Det här ska vi lära:

Under vårterminen jobbar vi mot att utveckla din förmåga att:

• tala (formulera sig muntligt), d.v.s. använda fraser och meningar inom ramen för ämnet, tala med begripligt uttal och med flyt
• använda strategier för att göra sig förstådda, d.v.s. lösa problemet när man inte kan ett visst ord, att kommunicera innehåll t.ex. genom omformulering eller genom att be om (eller ge) samtalspartner hjälp
• anpassa språket efter syften, mottagare och sammanhang, d.v.s. att man i talat språk inleder, avslutar och pratar på ett annat sätt än i en annan (t.ex. skriftlig) situation.

Så här ska vi jobba:

• Work procedure:

  1. Start by choosing a music artist to do research about.

  2. Find facts about your artist. Make sure to note / copy your sources. Also, make sure to use reliable sources; someone’s blog is not considered reliable, but maybe it says where they got the information? Trace it back to the original source. Ask your teacher for help if you need to!

  3. Write your own text about the artist. Translate it if you use Swedish texts. Check the text for careless mistakes.

  4. Create a visual presentation. It could be a power point or keynote, but also an online version. Don’t put all your text into your visual presentation, but save some for your oral presentation. Otherwise, people will only read and not listen to what you are saying!

  5. Write down 2-3 questions that you want your listeners to find the answers to by listening to your presentation. Put these as the first slide and the last slide.

  6. Practise well before you present it to class. Make sure you pronounce everything correctly, check with your teacher if you need to. The better you know your material by heart, the better the presentation will be, and so will your feedback from your teacher and your audience be on this assignment.
