Engelska - Oral Presentation VT18 v.18-21

Doing an oral presentation in front of an audience may give the listeners a lot of new information and knowledge that they didn't have before. It will also give you that great feeling of sharing this information with others. Anyone can do it, so let's get started!

Assignment:

You are going to do an oral presentation for approximately five minutes. You may show pictures, make a power point presentation or show short video clips to help you in your presentation, but you must speak yourself for at least five minutes. 

Preparation:

You will get three lessons in school to search for facts (if you need) and write a draft, to make sure you can present your topic in a manner that will be understood by the listeners. During this period, you can also look up words you might want to use in your presentation and also ask your teacher about the pronounciation of long or difficult words. In addition, you will get one lesson to practise your speech with your friend and to use your friend for peer response.

Grading:

Your presentation will be graded according to these criteria:

• contents - Can you make a presentation with information that captures the listeners? Have you enough material about the topic?
• context and continutity - Is the information given in your presentation linked in a way, so it is easy to follow? Is it easy to understand?
• presentation skills - Is your speech fluent? Are words pronounced well, so it is easy to understand what you say? Do you have key words or do you read from a text, and by doing so, lose eye contact with the listeners? Can you continue your presentation, even if you can't find the correct words or if you lose focus and forget what to say?
• thoughts of your own - What made you choose this topic? Why is it important to you? What have you learned while working with this assignment?
