Book review

 

You are going to record a vlog where you talk about the book you have read. It is important that you try to speak English at all times and that you prepare yourself properly before recording. Keep in mind that we want to hear your opinions on the book!

 

These points need to be included in your vlog:

 

• Title and author of the book.

 

• The story: A short summary of the book. When and where does the story take place? What kind of story is it; detective story, science fiction, comedy, romance? What is the most important episode or event in the book?

 

• The characters: Who is the main character of the book? Are there more than one? Describe them as well as you can. For example: How do they look? How old are they? How do they act? Do they change during the book? What are their relations to each other?

 

• The setting: Where does the story take place? City - countryside, rich - poor, indoors - outdoors. Is the setting well described?

 

• The message: What is the message of the book? Why did the author write the book and what does he/she want to say with it?

 

• Your opinion: What is your overall opinion of the book? What did you like? What did you not like? Would you recommend this book and if yes, to who? Was the language easy or difficult? Was the ending as you had expected it to be or would you like to change it? Does the title fit the story? Etc. etc.

 

Remember that you always have to explain your opinions and thoughts. Why? Try to give examples from the book to support your opinion.
