What should you as a student do? What knowledge requirements are being practiced throughout this period? Students are to present, in writing, an English-speaking country/state. That is, they are to write their own Wikipedia page about a country/or state. By searching the internet for information, they are to compose an informational text about the specific country/or state. What follows are examples of different things to bring up in the text: • Government: How is the country/state governed? • What are the living conditions for people in the country/state? • Is the country/state poor or rich? • What traditional foods do they eat in the country/state? • What current events are taking place in the country/state? • Check out laws and punishments that may differ from your home country. • Geographic: Where is the country state? (If you have a country: is it divided into different provinces? • Does the country have Indigenous peoples (native people) still living there and how are they treated/how have they been treated?
Aims:
· express themselves and communicate in writing,
· adapt language for different purposes, recipients and contexts,
· reflect over living conditions, social and cultural phenomena in different contexts and parts of the world where English is used.
Core content:
· Living conditions, traditions, social relations and cultural phenomena in various contexts and areas where English is used.
· Different ways of searching for, choosing and assessing texts and spoken language in English from the internet and other media.
· Language phenomena such as pronunciation, intonation, grammatical structures, sentence structure, words with different registers, as well as fixed language expressions pupils will encounter in the language.
· How texts language can be varied for different purposes and contexts.
