Reading: "Little Women"

We will spend four lessons with the wonderful women Jo, Beth, Meg and Amy as they struggle with poverty and societal standards in the book Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

Content:

During the lessons we are going to read the book and answer questions about the text, such as: What happened to Jo’s book? Why did it happen? After you have read the book, you are going to write a short text which takes place after the book has ended, your text should be 300-600 words long.

 

How we will work:

 Wednesday 20/11: You will be given the book and start reading. You will also receive question on each chapter that you should keep in mind when reading.

Homework: Read the first 9 chapters of the book.

 

Monday 25/11: We will discuss the questions you were given on the lesson on Wednesday 20/11 as well as the text in general. You will also be given questions for the remaining 5 chapters.

Homework: Read the remaining 5 chapters of the book.

 

Wednesday 27/11: We will discuss the questions you were given in the lesson on Monday 25/11 as well as the text in general. We will also start on the text that takes place after the book has ended.

 

Monday 27/12: Finish writing the text and hand it in.

 

How you will show you have learned:

You will be graded on your written assignment. What language you use as well as how well you have understood the text.
