Muntligt projekt om religioner i världen

 

 

You will prepare a PowerPoint presentation where you compare three major religions in the world. You can choose among Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Buddhism. In your comparison, you need to talk about certain points listed below. I may ask questions after you are done with the presentation.

N.B. You should only have keywords and images on your slides, a lot of text leads to a lower grade.

You will talk about the following points:

• -          Holy places
• -          Holy scriptures
• -          Key persons: saints or prophets
• -          Rules and principles governing life
• -          Rituals
• -          Festivities and holidays  
• -          God / Gods
• -          Views on homosexuality
• -          Impact on our world today

 

Duration: around 5 minutes for each pupil.

 

Presentations will start on week 5

N.B. You must work efficiently both at school and at home

Sources and material used

This project is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration between the English and the social sciences teacher. Reading and audiovisual material  is made available by the social sciences teacher in order to deepen pupils' knowledge about the topic both in English and Swedish. The students are also encouraged to inquire and research on their own. Both teachers are available for further guidance and help.
