A Noble Smedis Nobel Poetry Writing and Speaking Ceremony: Prepare, Structure and Deliver your own Nobel Poetry Production.
Most gracious and dearly noble congratulations! You have been nobly awarded a Nobel Award in Literature!
Each week we will study, examine, read, listen and write a different type of poem (Nursery rhyme, Free verse, Acrostic, Haiku and Shakespearean Sonnet).
Weekly, you will write 3 poems in each of the forms of study: 1. In Groups 2. With a partner 3. Individually
Week 50, you will:
1. Writing Grade:
E - Level: Submit a personally written compendium of 4 poems: 1. Nursery rhyme 2. Free Verse 3. Acrostic and 4. Haiku
2. Oral Grade: Nobel Day, Decemeber 10, you will celebrate the winning of your Nobel Prize in Literature by delivering an oral introduction of your winning poem as well as a recital of your original poem.
C - Level: Completion of assignments 1 ans 2 above AND a written analysis of a sonnet in your own Words. Sonnet discussion should include a concrete personal perspective/reflection. (General sonnet background, theme and meaning. Specific metaphors and message. Reference to specific line(s). Direct parallel to you, your own thoughts, views and life experiences.
Optional:
3. Oral Analysis and/or recital/Reading of a chosen Shakespearean Sonnet!
Posture, Poise, Voice, Formality, Eloquence, Vocabulary, Delivery, Structured Outline, Diction, Humility, Praise and Gratitude... These are few critical oral speech topics we will examine, and produce, in this December 10th Oral Graded Festivity!
Due Week: 50 ( Nobel Week ) Due Date: December 10
Grading Criteria: Grading will include ALL NP Oral Knowledge Requirements in addition to specific oral-writing and research abilities.
