Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 7A + 7B - w.2-8+10 spring 2022

During w.2-8 you will get to know different characters from "Charlie and the chocolate factory", the book written by Roald Dahl and film directed by Tim Burton. Prepare yourself to enter a world of weird characters and a lot of funny candy. Are you ready?

Project: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 

Goals

You will:

  • be able to use your own language.
  • get knowledge about the content in the book and the film and discuss it in class.
  • be able to compare similarities and differences between the book and the film, both in speaking and in writing.
  • be able to present some arguments and opinions about the characters, in oral discussions about the book and the film.
  • be able to write a text in English from the perspective of one of the characters. The content from the book and the film will be used. You will also practise to limit your text (avgränsa).

  • The rest you will get from your teacher (chapter 1 and 8 from the book, Word list + Word tests + some of the documents in Uppgift)

  • STARTER: Finish making the mind-map of Charlie Bucket + film your presentation, 1-3 minutes long, and send it to Helén in Teams. 
  • Make your own Word list:
  1. Write down difficult words/words you don't know
  2. Find the meanings of the words
  3. Write an explanation in English to half of the words in your word list
  4. Write the Swedish translation to half of the words in your word list
