Sydafrika är ett land där engelska är ett av de officiella språken. Inom det här arbetsområdet kommer vi att läsa ett antal texter om landet Sydafrika och dess historia. Vi kommer också att se några korta filmer om landet och dess kanske mest berömda ledare, Nelson Mandela. Dessa filmer är i de flesta fall på engelska; ibland med engelsk text och ibland otextat, så du kommer att ta till dig information genom att lyssna.

Vi kommer att arbeta med frågor på de texter vi läser, och den fakta du tar till dig via filmerna ger dig möjlighet att ge en mer utförlig och nyanserad bild av Sydafrika och dess historia. Du kommer först att få besvara dessa frågor skriftligt, och sedan redogöra för dina svar muntligt i mindre grupp. Ni kommer också att få öva er på att skriva olika typer av texter, med utgångspunkt från det ni lärt er om Sydafrika, och egna tankar om t.ex. situationen i landet. 

Upplägg för temat

Vi kommer att arbeta med texter som kommer att vara obligatoriska för slutuppgiften (att skriva en resedagbok/reseblogg) på olika vis. Vi arbetar med läsförståelse, hörförståelse, ni söker efter information på egen hand et cetera.
