Reading Project - Bend it like Beckham

We are reading the novel Bend it like Beckham. The book is about a young girl called Jess and her desire to play football. The book takes place in England and is based on the hit movie with the same name.

This is how we're going to work

• We read chapter 1 together in class, and then we do the first chapter summary together so that everyone knows how to do the summaries from home. 
• After the first class where we read and summarize the first chapter together you are all taking the book home to read individually. 
• Each week you're going to read at least one chapter and then, depending on the week, you do a written or spoken summary that you hand in via Unikum. This is the schedule we are going to follow when reading:

After reading

• After we have read the book we are going to write a text called a book report. A book report is more focused on facts about the book rather than the reader's opinion about the book, as a book review would be. 
• It's important to do all of the summaries because when we write the book report you are going to write it in Kunskapsmatrisen and the only help you're going to have is: a mind map and a lexicon. The summaries will help you understand what you have read and will make it easier for you to plan your writing, make a mind map and write the book report.

Important information about the book

The book is numbered and you need to keep track of your book! You need to return the exact book that we gave you. We match the number on the book with the students name. A lost or damaged book will be billed, the cost to replace the book is 150 kr.

You are writing a summary of the chapters 2-3 + 6-7 + 10-11 + 12-13 here in Unikum. Write between 5-10 sentences per chapter.

Chapters 2-3: v. 4, 26/1
