A Christmas letter from the Western Front

On Christmas Day 1914 a remarkable event occurred in the muddy trenches of the Western Front. The guns fell silent and a memorable truce that last at least one day, began. British and German soldiers met in No Man's Land to celebrate Christmas. You are going to read parts of a letter from a British soldier to his mother where he tells her about a Christmas without shooting. After that I want you to write a similar letter to someone you care for, choosing whether to be a British or German soldier.
