English 8 - The Da Vinci Code

Under week 10 we will be watching the Da Vinci Code film. In preparation for this, we have worked with texts from the textbook to familiarize you with the words and topics from the film.
After the film, you will be writing a review about it.

Assignments from week 8 and 9 about the topic:
- Read text "A famous book: The Da Vinci Code" page 120 in the textbook. Answer questions from workbook page 114, exercise 12.
- Read text "P.S. Find Robert Langdon" page 144-146 in the textbook. Answer questions from workbook page 118, exercise 22.
- Discussion in pairs from workbook, page 119, exercise 24.

Film review - The Da Vinci Code

When you start writing your film review, you can follow this structure. Remember it is a review, so the text needs to have a normal flow. 1. Introduction - What's the name of the film? Who wrote the book the film is based on? - When did he write the book? - Has the author written more books? - OBS! If you can't find the information in the texts we used in class, look up the information online 2. The story - What is the film about? Describe the overall parts, it doesn't need to have too many details. - Who is the main character? - When and where does it take place? 3. The characters - Who are the main characters in the story? Describe them. - What do they look like? - What kind of persons are they? - Why do they act the way they do? 4. Your opinion - Write your PERSONAL opinion about the film (exciting, boring, interesting, etc) - Why did you think it was interesting/boring?
