Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

During the weeks to come we will be reading the world famous book "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" by Roald Dahl.

Syfte

Aim:

The aim with the project is to improve your reading and listening comprehension, develop your vocabulary and your writing- and speaking skills. During the project you will discuss different elements in the novel, answer questions to the text, learn new words and do shorter writing assignments.

Description of Augustus Gloop

Dear all, Your task is to write a descriptive text about Augustus Gloop. All the work should be done during the lessons. Please follow the instructions below. 1. Make a mind map of the things you know about Augustus. 2. Write your first draft of your text about Augustus by following the plan below. - Context: Put Augustus in a context. Where have you "met" him? A Newspaper Article

Newspaper Article: Leaving the tour... Choose Augustus, Violet, Veruca, or Mike. Using your knowledge of the events in the book, write a newspaper article discussing the character’s disappearance from the ‘competition’ and speculate about their whereabouts. Remember – the outside world doesn’t know what’s happened to them exactly, but like The Hunger Games, they do know that someone has “left” the tour, and they haven’t been seen leaving the factory yet…what might have happened to them?! Pretend you are the editor of the newspaper; try to include some newspaper techniques such as lively language, interviews with the public, and a catchy headline – “Tubby Ticket Triumph ends in disaster?” or something!
