"Have a Bite"

Food for thought! How come you see nothing but food shows on the telly nowadays? Why are we so obsessed by food? Let's discuss that and many more things together!

It is important to read different types of texts because when you do so, you develop strategies for different occasions. During the following weeks you will be reading extracts of an autobiography, a short story, a column and an article. We will watch clips from some food shows, but also work with grammar. The aim of the upcoming weeks is to become more aware of how others write in order do develop reading and writing skills of one's own. There will be a writing assignment and you will also be asked to give a quick speech.

·       Strategier för att lyssna och läsa på olika sätt och med olika syften.

Produktion och interaktion

·       Muntlig och skriftlig produktion och interaktion av olika slag, även i mer formella sammanhang, där eleverna instruerar, berättar, sammanfattar, förklarar, kommenterar, värderar, motiverar sina åsikter, diskuterar och argumenterar.

Speech – Homework for Tuesday the 12th or Friday the 15th of February: Prepare a short speech using the instructions in your book, Solid Ground 1, Speaking Exercise B, p. 114. You will have 3 minutes at your disposal and you will be performing it to 9 other students and your teacher. Scared? Don’t be!

Essay on Food

Essay – Homework for Friday the 8th of February Write an essay using the instructions in your book Solid Ground 1. Choose one of topics in “Short Writing”, p. 85, p.93 or 114. Write about 300 words. Share your essay with me. We will talk about a few tricks of the trade together. You will have 2h20 hours at your disposal at school, but you can finish it at home if you prefer to.
