Catching fire  

The written assignment is to write an article where you take the point of view of the capitol or any of the districts. This means you will have to know a bit about the views of the view you take.

How are you going to write?

A news article is based on facts. Here you make up your own facts according to the district or capitols point of views. 
You can’t include your own thoughts though it has to be obvious what views your district has.  You need to include headlines to your article. Search different news websites to see how an article is designed. 

When you are done you follow the response list before handing in at Unikum. When I assess your text I will look at grammar, spelling, variation of vocabulary and expressions but also the way you discuss the content. 



Writing exercise

We will work with the movie "Catching Fire". When we watch the movie there will be no subtitle and hence you practise your listening ability. Moreover, you will produce a text and show me your speaking qualities by discussing the content.&nbsp;

Week 8 - Go through response list (and look for appropriate linking words). Final product is handed in here on Unikum. No time to write during class will be given week 9.

Response list:
Correct vocabulary in the sentence (she&rsquo;s/her)
Grammar mistakes (is/are, was/were, have/has, wordorder, verb tenses)
Spelling mistakes (whit = with, to/too, your/you&rsquo;re, its/it&rsquo;s, meat/meet
Spoken and written language (gonna-going to, wanna-want to, you-u)
* Then make sure you have; a capital (stor) letter in the beginning of every sentence and capital letter on I in a&nbsp;sentence. full stop(punkt) in the end of every sentence no really long sentences. Use full stop and commas.
* If you use abbreviations (f&ouml;rkortningar) (it&rsquo;s, wasn&rsquo;t etc., make sure you put the apostrophe in the right place (not its). If you are unsure about how to use abbreviations, just write it is, was not etc.
* Look for variation in your text How to begin a sentence (not too many I, he, she)&nbsp; You mustn&rsquo;t begin a sentence with and, but etc. (these are linking&nbsp;words).&nbsp; Use a variation of difficult words and expressions.&nbsp; * Look for correct preposition words, i.e. angry with (not at), look at (not on).
OBS! Before you hand in your text you let at least (minst) one person read your text!
