American history and Remember the Titans

Do you know about the dark parts in the history of America? Have you heard about slavery, the civil rights movement or Martin Luther King? Do you know what the underground railroad was? Have you heard about the bravery of Rosa Parks? No? Well, during the following weeks you will soon be able to say yes to all the questions above.

Syfte

Learn about the African American history and how it has affected and still is affecting people. You will learn about some of the persons that played an important role in the changing views on African American rights.

Undervisning

• we will watch clips and read texts.
• we are going to learn new words and the difference between AmE and BmE.
• we will watch the film "Remember the Titans".
• we will get to know about The Civil rights movement, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and The Underground railroad.
