My travel diary

You are going to America. The reason for this is optional. You can be a tourist, an agent, a business man or whatever you feel like. Money is no problem since your rich uncle has promised to pay for everything; you can travel the way you want, by plane, train or by car.

You are going on a three-week tour of the USA. The reason for this is optional. You can be a tourist, an agent, a business man or whatever you feel like. You should visit three different states. Decide how and with whom you will travel, where you want to go and what you want to see. Also decide what time of the year you will go there. Money is no problem because your rich uncle has promised to pay for everything.

 

Assignments

1. You are going to write a travel diary based upon your experiences. In this diary, you start with the flight across the Atlantic and end with the return in Sweden. Include facts about the cities and places you visit, both historical and cultural:

- What cities and attractions can be found in the states you visit? Which of them did you go to?
- Nature and climate.  What rivers, mountains can be found in the states? What's the weather like? Are there any animals that we don't have here in Sweden?
- Are there any famous Americans from any of the states you visit? What did you learn about him/her during your travel?
- What important history has happened? Did you visit any museums or monuments?

You can look for information in your textbook, encyclopedias, the Internet etc. Since it's a diary you should of course also write your own thoughts about your journey.

Your diary is to be handed in week 4 (Thursday January 24). It should contain at least 500 words written on Google Drive, Times 14, 1.5 space.

If you can come up with a story in this diary (for instance that you are a secret agent on a mission or looking for a missing person) it is for the better. This might give you a reason to go to different places in a certain order and keep your diary together.

2. In week 4 you are to present one of the states  you have visited. You will do this in small groups (3-5 persons) and your presentation should be filmed and handed in on Google Classroom.
