Year 5 Tiny House Project

Congratulations! You are now Project Manager for your very own Tiny House! You will be designing, constructing and decorating your own tiny house! Be ready to solve problems, think creatively and figure out how to make your tiny house work for you!

Lesson Content

* This unit will take 9 weeks to finish. We only have one technology lesson a week, so other lessons might be changed to Technology so we can finish this assignment on time.

* We will spend some time watching tiny house videos for inspiration or ideas.

* All work is individual in notebooks and packets, but we will collaborate to share and constructively criticise each others’ ideas.

 

Goals

* Sketch, design, calculate and build your very own Tiny House!

* Use correct documentation and calculations to figure out your design

* Understand why certain designs will or will not work.

Assessment Types

• Your project is individual, but you will collaborate with others through Peer Review.

• You will be assessed on your final work, but this is a long process that takes many weeks to complete. You need to move forward each week in order to meet the deadline.

• Remember, this is a process. Your final tiny house is important, but the process is even more important!

• Olika sätt att hushålla med energi i hemmet.
• Konsekvenser av teknikval, till exempel för- och nackdelar med olika tekniska lösningar.
• Att styra egna konstruktioner eller andra föremål med programmering.
