For the next couple of weeks we are going to be working with the short story Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl. 

Roald Dahl

Dahl was a British novelist, short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and wartime fighter pilot. His books have sold more than 250 million copies worldwide and he is one of the world's best-selling authors. He has been referred to as "one of the greatest storytellers for children of the 20th century" (The Independent, 2010).

Dahl's short stories are known for their unexpected endings, and his children's books for their unsentimental, macabre, often darkly comic mood, featuring villainous adult enemies of the child characters (Wikipedia).

Assignment

Goals: To familiarize yourself with the author and his typical style of writing.
To practice the skill of reading between the lines. 

To practice different reading strategies.

To familiarize yourself with different skills to use to develop your written language. 

First, you are going to read, listen, and watch a short animated film of Lamb to the Slaughter. It is important that you understand the text!  

• What strategies do you use to understand the text? Skimming? Searching for information? Looking up difficult words? 
  
  

Second, you are going to answer questions based on the text. You do this in Classroom in a google document. Develop your answers.
