Holes - writing assignment

You have now read the book "Holes" by Louis Sachar and you are going to do a writing assignment. You get to choose between two different types of texts to show your understanding of the book.

Writing assignment: 

You are going to write a text to show your understanding of the book "Holes", by Louis Sachar.

Contents:

Choose between ONE of these texts to write about:

1.

You have become an inmate at Camp Green Lake. Explain why you have ended up at the camp and what you experience there. Remember to include Stanley's story into your own, to show your understanding of the book.

2. 

You are going to be either Stanley or Zero and tell your story after running away from camp. You begin with the situation when you escape and write about things that you experience all the way to the end of the book. Begin your text with "I am", followed by your person's name.

 

Tips:

Make this story to your own. You are the actual person you have chosen. Why are you at Camp Green Lake? Describe people around you in the situations you write about. What do you think of them and why? What does it look like indoors or outdoors where you are? What can you see, hear, smell, touch or taste? Describe your feelings when doing things. What is your relation to the others at camp?

Your text will be graded according to the criteria in the matrix.
