Engelska 5: TED - Ideas worth spreading (EK21)

TED.com is a non-profit organization whose mission is to share ideas worth spreading. Their platform gives people around the globe an oppertunity to listen to short, powerful lectures by influential speakers from various fields. “TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.” - TED.com

During this assignment you are going to listen to/watch a TED-talk of your choice. Your task is to find a talk that has a topic which appeals to you, and which you would like to know more about. You are going to write a text in which you will summarize the main points of the TED-talk, as well as give your opinion about its content and message. Once you have completed these two steps you will read and give feedback on a classmates summary and response.

 

While working on this subject area you will improve your vocabulary, as well as your listening and writing skills. Additionally you will develop your ability to summarize, give opinion and feedback.
