English Year 7 (Autumn 2021)

We will be reading texts about school, pets, scary stories and celebrations. We will connect with some schools in the US and in India as we read the book "The Jumbies" by Tracey Baptiste.

 

This term we will:

• listen to different stories and conversations. 
• express yourself and communicate in speech and writing. You will write a letter, a journal and a film review.
• reflect over how other people live in other English speaking countries. You will also have some international connections.

• read different types of texts. We will also read some chapters from the book "The Jumbies" by Tracey Baptiste.

Week 33 - 35: Chapter 1 + Grammar ( A vs An)

Week 36 - 38: Chapter 2 + Grammar ( plural nouns and the present tense) + Write a journal and a letter

Week 39 - 45: International project (Global Read Aloud) + The Jumbies + Grammar ( Irregular verbs )

Week 45: We finish the project.

Week 46: Reading & Listening Comprehension.

Week 47 - 48: Chapter 4 + Grammar ( irregular verbs)

Week 49 - 50: Chapter 5: Celebrations
