We are reading a novel called Bend it like Beckham. The book is about a young girl called Jess and her desire to play football. The book takes place in England and is based on the hit movie with the same name.

This is how we're going to work

• We read chapter 1 together in class, and then we do the first chapter summary together so that everyone knows how to do the summaries from home. 
• After the first class where we read and summarize the first chapter together you are all taking the book home to read individually. 
• Each week you're going to read at least one chapter and then, depending on the week, you do a written or spoken summary that you hand in via Unikum.

After reading

• After we have read the book we are going to write a text called a book report. A book report is slightly different from a review, a report is more based on facts and a review is more based on your opinion. 
• It's important to do all of the summaries because when we write the book report you are going to write it in Exam.Net and the only help you're going to have is: your own summaries, the actual book and a lexicon. 

Important information about the book

The book is numbered and you need to keep track of your book! You need to return the exact book that we gave you. We match the number on the book with the students name. A lost or damaged book will be billed, the cost to replace the book is 150 kr.

Written summaries, chapter: 2-3 + 6-7 + 10-11

You are writing a summary of the chapters 2-3 + 6-7 + 10-11 here in Unikum. Write between 5-10 sentences per chapter.

When ever a new character is presented, describe the character as well.

You also have a word-list where you write and translate/explain the words you didn't understand while reading.

Record yourself and hand in the recording in Unikum. Do not send through temas or via email. Malin will show you how to record yourself and how to send it. You can also look at this short video to see how to do it.
