Life and Death

What is a good life? How do we feel and think about death? During this section you will get to do some, at times, morbid studies in life and death. What happens when you die? Is there a meaning with life? Is there such a thing as killing out of mercy? These are big questions and you will get to discuss them. Through reading, listening and speaking we will tackle these questions that often don't have an obvious answer. You will get to hear, watch and listen to different stories about life and death.

How would you describe him at the beginning of the film? At the middle of the film? At the end of the film? • What do you think is good with the film? Euthanasia: yes or no?

1) Write a text. 2) Talk about your thoughts in a small group. In the text you will discuss whether or not you believe that euthanasia is justified, if you should be able to "help" people die. You will discuss both active and passive euthanasia. Think about structure: - Beginning: catch the reader's interest, give the reader an idea of what you are going to write about. - Middle: discuss pros and cons with euthanasia, if you think differently when it comes to active and passive euthanasia, and what your final opinion is. - Ending: tie everything together and leave the reader something interesting to think about (if possible). Think about: - Paragraphs: "new thought, new paragraph", use a topic sentence, and make sure that everything in that paragraph is about that sentence. - Use linking words to make the text coherent (sammanhängande).
