Engelska åk 9 vt 16: Book circle

You will be divided into groups and each group will be given “their” book to read. You will get time to read, discuss and do exercises in school. You will also need to work and read at home.

The Discussion leader: Prepare three questions based on “Thinking questions” Take notes from the discussion and write everything here. The Summarizer: Write a brief summary of today´s reading. The Word finder: Note words that are puzzling and unfamiliar while you are reading. Make a wordlist on the words here. Also copy and hand out the wordlist to all the members in the group. The Character tracer: Choose a character and list some character traits that the person has shown in today´s reading. Give the page numbers and evidence from your reading which will support your choices. The Creative connector: Find connections between the book and the world outside. Connect the readings to your own life; things you have seen heard or experienced. Set the scene in the book that you are referring to by summarizing briefly. Then tell the others what this reminds you of. Finally, point out similarities and differences. Think in steps of 3 when you do this task. 1=describe the scene in the book, 2=Describe what it reminds you of, 3=Compare the scene from the book and the thing it reminded you of.
