The USA

We have been studying a range of different information about the USA: history; culture; famous people and literature. Now it is time for you to write an informative piece of writing about the USA.  There are some aspects that you need to write about. These mandatory aspects are:

• What is typically for the USA – Famous literature, sports, people, cities, music, food etc.
• Similarities and differences between school and everyday life in the USA compared to Sweden.

Finally it is up to you to choose one more topic to write about, you could choose from following topics (If you have your own idea of that you want to write about, check with me and it will probably be fine):

• Martin Luther King
• Barack Obama
• World Trade Center
• New York
• Native Americans
• Empire State Building
• Some traditions in the USA

Your paper should be two computer written pages. Write with Times New Roman 12p. Remember to have a clear introduction, headlines and some sort of conclusion. Remember that the aim of the assignment is to inform so research is required to fulfil the requirements of the essay.

Think about using connective words to make your text flow well. I will be marking your work based on grammar, vocabulary and content and also how well you can select and use materials and how well you can present and discuss your facts and discuss and compare differences.
