You are going to make some research about an English speaking country. The countries you may choose from are: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland (they all belong to the UK). Further on, the USA, (Or a state within the country), Canada, Jamaica, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or India.
You may also choose a certain area of the country. It could be a city, but also areas as the geography, culture, politics, schools, sports, music, food or other things you may find interesting to learn more about.
Sources: Books/literature, the internet, your own knowledge or experience or interviews etc.
When you finished your research, you will make a presentation before the class. In that presentation, you will also make at least one comparison of how it is in Sweden in the certain area you have chosen. You will also hand in a specific list of sources to the teacher, so that he can see from where you have got your information.
Dates:
We will start this project on Monday week 9 and the presentations will be from Monday week 12. That means that you have five lessons all in all for this project.
The first lesson (Monday week 9): You choose your country and area and make your planning for the project.
The second lesson (Thursday week 9): You search for information and write it down. You will also decide within your group, who is responsible for what.
The third lesson (Monday week 10): You continue to find facts about your area and you write down all information you have.
The fourth lesson (Monday week 11): You continue to find facts about your area and you will also start to make key words to your text.
The fifth lesson (Thursday week 11): You continue to write keywords and you will then practice on your presentation so you are well prepared.
