Oral presentation Year 8: My Prize

von Bahrs skola, Uppsala · Senast uppdaterad: 13 juni 2018

You have now learned a few things about Anne Frank and the Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala. Your job is to present a hero of your own; someone that you think highly of. It does not have to be a person who has made anything for you in person, but maybe the chosen person has made the world a better place for others.

Oral presentation: My Prize

You are expected to prepare the talk so that you can speak freely about the ‘hero’ without reading from a paper. Of course you may bring some notes to help you.

Please observe that your hero must be a real person and that is why there should be no stories about Superman or any other fictional character.

What to do:

1) Write down the names of three persons that you would like to award a great prize.

2) Then, try to come up with reasons to why these persons should receive the prize.

3) After this stage, choose one of these persons that you think is most worthy a prize.

4) Decide the name of the prize.

5) Prepare and give a two minutes speech about your hero.

We will go through the document  called “How to prepare for an oral presentation”

Prepare a two minute long speech containing:

* An introduction

* Main part:

  • Background information about the person

  • Why should he/she receive the prize? Motivate!

  • What’s the name of the prize?

* An ending

You will give your presentation w. 48 so plan your work the coming weeks carefully.

w. 45 Introduction Hw: Choose own topic

w. 46 Work with topic Hw: Work at home for 1hr

w. 47 PRAO

w. 48 Give speech
