English speaking countries

The Seychelles, The Bahamas, Swaziland… There are so many places where English is spoken! What do you know about them?
Choose a country and search for facts about it! Compare it to Sweden! Let me know what you learn.

The English speaking world

You are going to present an English speaking country, and compare it to your own experiences and knowledge of Sweden.

Your presentation will be both written and oral. You can choose to write a paper in Word or make a PowerPoint presentation.

First, start by finding the information you want. Remember to write down your sources!

Your presentation should contain the following:

• A picture of the country
• A picture of the flag
• Capital
• Population /people
• Structure of government
• Languages spoken in the country.
• Currency – compare value to SEK.
• Education
• A teenager´s ordinary day (food, school, activities)
• Why do they speak English in your country?
• Can you find a clip with the national version of English?

Your presentation could also contain the following:

* Animal life
* Famous sports
* Famous people from the country

- Interesting historical facts?
- Famous sights
* Pictures of your own choice

It can also contain additional information.

Don't forget to make comparisons with Sweden!

 You are going to hand in your sources. Remember to use only creative commons pictures!

 

Time plan:

v 46-49 finding facts and Writing, hand in your written text (the first draft) December 7th at the latest.

v 49-50  make improvements and prepare your oral presentation

v 50-51 presentations (or in January)
