English Year 9: Literature - The boy in the striped pyjamas

Bruno doesn't know anything about the Final Solution, or the Holocaust. All he knows is that his family has moved from their home in Berlin to a desolate area, where there's no one to play with. Until he meets Shmuel, a boy who lives on the other side of the mysterious wire fence near Bruno's new house, and who wears a uniform of striped pyjamas.

In this project, we are going to read and reflect on the book The boy in the striped pyjamas by John Boyne.

In class we will read and listen to the novel The boy in the striped pyjamas by John Boyne 

You will read a few sections at home as homework.

We will practise discussing the content in class.

We will finish by watching the film together in class.

Bedömning

You will be assessed orally during the work process and after we finish the book you will also answer some questions about the book in writing.
