Inquiry Questions

• What is it like in Canada? Hong Kong? Nairobi?
• How can we describe our own school? Which phrases can be useful?
• How can we describe our spare time activities?
• What is the wildlife like in Nairobi?
• Can we describe things in different ways, even though we are speaking the same language?
• How can we improve our language grammatically?

In this unit you will learn how to describe your own school, talk about things you use in school, your timetable, and how other people has it in their school and country. We will focus on Canada and what the life is like there. We will read articles about Canada, dialogues about school etc.

In the next section we will focus on Hong Kong. We will learn how to talk about our sparetime, what a good friend is and why good friends are important. 

In the last section we will learn to talk about wild animals in Africa, how to discuss a trip and how to describe a city. 

We will improve our grammar by studying a/an, possessive pronoun, irregular verbs and was/were and more. 

We will have homework each week. You find the detailed planner on Lexby's website. We also use Google Classroom for all the documents we use. There will be smaller tests during the term that checks the four abilities: listening, writing, speaking and reading. During the spring term we also have national tests in English.
