Holes

"Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse that began with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnatses. Now Stanley has been unjustly sent to a boys’ detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the boys build character by spending all day, every day digging holes exactly five feet wide and five feet deep. There is no lake at Camp Green Lake.

In this project, we are going to read and reflect on the book Holes by Louis Sachar.

During the following weeks we are going to read the book Holes by Louis Sachar.

After 5 chapters you will answer questions and discuss them in smaller groups. You will get a notebook where you write all your answers and thoughts about the book.

Aim

In this assignment you are going to develop your reading, writing and speaking skills and reflect on differences and similarities between an English speaking country and Sweden.

Bedömning

I ditt arbete med boken kommer du att bli bedömd på följande förmågor:

* Läsa

* Höra

* Skriva

* Tala

Varje vecka kommer du att svara på skriftliga frågor om de kapitel du har läst och du kommer även att delta i muntliga diskussioner om boken som du kommer att bli bedömd på.

I slutet av arbetsområdet kommer vi att se filmen om ”Holes” och skriva en slutuppgift om boken och filmen som du kommer att bli bedömd på.

Under arbetsområdet kommer du kontinuerligt att öva förmågorna läsa och höra och du blir bedömd på dessa två förmågor under arbetets gång.
