Assignment: Interview a celebrity

 

Work in pairs or groups of 3. The assignment is to interview each other - and to pretend to be a famous person from an English speaking country. You need to:

 

1. Decide on who you are (for example a sportstar, a writer or a musician) - if you haven’t decided by the end of class, we decide for you by drawing a note from the jar...

2. Research your celebrity thoroughly - these questions can be of help:

1. what is the person known for?

2. where is he/she from?

3. when did he/she become famous?

4. has he/she done other things as well?

5. anything most people wouldn’t know about him/her?

6. what is he/she doing right now?

3. Find at least one short interesting story to tell from “your” (your famous person’s) career… A so called anecdote

4. Research the celebrities your group has chosen enough so that you can ask them questions about the things above (Help each other out here by sharing things beforehand!)

5. Use the questions from “2.” to guide you in writing questions for the specific interviews - and make sure to adapt them to the subject!

 

We have 2 hours for preparation in class. Write down the information you need in a docs. Homework (we don’t have headphones for everyone to do it in class) for next class is to watch a short interview on for example Youtube at home (watch 5-10 min). To show that you have done this, I want a link to this included when you send you recording in together with a short recap (sammanfattning) about what is talked about.

 

Now it is time to interview each other. Make sure to have questions prepared! Instead of presenting in class, I want you to record your interview. To pass: You need to speak for at least 2 minutes each, but no longer than 5.

• I muntlig interaktion i olika sammanhang kan eleven uttrycka sig tydligt och med visst flyt samt med viss anpassning till syfte, mottagare och situation.
• Dessutom kan eleven välja och använda sig av fungerande strategier som löser problem i och förbättrar interaktionen.
