You are expected to read a novel and prepare for a Writing assignment on the topic of Child-raising.

Innehåll

You are expected to read Roald Dahl's much loved novel about a number of horrible Children and of course the "hero" of the story - Charlie Bucket himself. Also you will be expected to brush up your grammar skills each week. Some of this work needs to be done at home, since there may not be time for it all during our two lessons per week. Questions to be discussed and answered in pairs or in groups will be posted weekly to facilitate a clear understanding of the story; its characters and their relations as well as personal traits. Prepare to make up your mind aabout what you think about Child-raising and why Dahl chose these examples of spoiled kids. Eventually you will be given an assignment to write an essay about what you have read and argue with your own opinions. More about that later on...

 

Week 36            Introduction, visit the library to borrow your copy. Reading the first chapters.

 

                           Reading 1/4 of the book each week – 50 pgs / week – 7-10 pgs / day. Pages 11-51

                            English Grammar Check (EGC)

    Questions – group discussion; written answers to be handed in. New secretary each week.

Week 41           Writing assignment is presented – start preparation for Writing

                            Film version shown in class to support your reading perception.

 

Week 42            Begin writing your essay assignment in school two lessons.

                            Finish writing your essay.

 

Week 43            X-tra time.

 

Week 44            Autumn break.

 

You are allowed to bring your personal notes – but not a complete essay; your essay must be written IRL in the classroom.
