For the next couple of weeks we are going to read a book called “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian".
We will read, work and discuss, watch a movie and write an article.
The project will be finished at the beginning of next term.

Book circle 5:

Discuss questions(handout).
Write an evaluation of the book circle; comment how the work went, your feelings/experiences during this week.


The different roles in the book circle

discussion leader
Prepare 3 questions on the pages you’ve read. Set the scene and tell the page number before you write down your question.
At the meeting you lead the discussion. Address your friends with their names and thank them for their presented activity.
Always start by asking the summerizer to summerize today’s reading. Next is your turn, to ask the prepared questions to the group. Keep an eye on the clock!

summerizer
Prepare a brief summary of today’s reading. Cover the key events and main highlight only. You will start the circle meeting.

character tracer
Choose a character and list some character traits that the person has shown in today’s reading. Give the page numbers and evidence from your reading why you think he/she/they is like this.

creative connector
Find connections between the book and the world outside. Connect the readings to your own life, things you have seen or experienced. Point out similarities and differences between the book and your own life/experience/another book, movie or music.
