No more Clio online for a while! I asked you what you wanted to focus on in English class and one of the things you asked for was to expand your vocabulary. A great way to do that is to read and/or listen to literature in English. Since Christmas is coming upon us I chose the famous A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. It´s arguable one of the most famous stories ever told, known by people all over the world. You might now it all ready from one of the many movies based on the book.
We are going to use BBC School Radio for this unit. Through their website we can access an abridged version of the book, made to suit teenagers. On their site we can both listen to and read the story. This is the exact link if you want to access it from home: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03g64q4
When we read and/or listen to the story we get plenty of chances to learn new vocabulary while we also practise both reading and listening to English. We will watch one of the movie adaptations as well as quite a few segments from Youtube. All in an effort to make your understanding as easy as possible.
There will be no test or final assignment, instead I will want to look at your work continuously while working. We will do both written exercises as well as segments where you speak English in class so you´ll have plenty of opportunity to show me your skills in English.
