Charlie and the chocolate factory

Charlie is a poor boy who lives with his parents and his four grandparents in a tiny house. He is very excited when he hears that there are four golden tickets to visit the nearby Willy Wonka's Chocolate factory hidden in bars of Willy Wonka chocolate. After finding some money on the pavement he buys a chocolate bar. The chocolate has one of the golden tickets inside and he is one of the lucky ones to go visiting the chocolate factory.

- lära dig nya ord som du sedan kan använda själv i meningar. 

- skriva en detaljerad personbeskrivning av någon av karaktärerna.

- skriva en av de två föreslagna uppgifterna, antingen en filmrecension eller en påhittad fortsättning till filmen.

Vi kommer att titta på filmen "Charlie and the chocolate factory" på engelska och med engelsk textning. I samband med att du tittar på filmen ska du skriva ner ord som är nya och som du inte förstår. Därefter kommer klassen att få jobba med orden, både att hitta betydelsen av orden men också att hitta synonymer till dem. 

Uppgift 1. 

Diskutera:

• How does Charlie's family compare with your own?
• What do you think of Charlie's grandfather? 
• What about Willy Wonkas childhood? His family? What was it like when he grew up? Why do you think he is so fond of sweets?
•  Which scene did you like the most in the film? 
• Describe the characters in the film (the children) briefly, and tell the others which was your favourite and why!

 Uppgift 2.

Work with words

Du ska få översätta samt hitta synonymer till ord som har förekommit i filmen. När du har jobbat med orden/och dess synonymer kommer du att få dem i glosläxa. Dessutom ska också använda dessa ord nör du gör de andra uppgifterna.

Uppgift 3.

- Choose a character (without telling your friends who you are) and secretly write about him/her. Try to make your description as detailed as you can. Use a dictionary to look up words that you don’t know.

- Then each read out their description and the other pupils guess which character they are describing.

Uppgift 4. 

Choose one of the following:

1. Write a review of the film, consisting a description of Charlie and Willy Wonka (perhaps someone else?), a summary of the plot (handlingen) and your thoughts about the film.

2. Write an imaginary story about what happens after the film has ended.
