You have been chosen to be the school’s “Spring talker”. You will plan and record a short program where you are the main character/s. The length of your talk should be approximately 4 minutes if you are alone – 6 minutes if you are in a pair. The main goal is to capture the listeners’ interest – to entertain.
This is what we will do
· Listen to a Podcast on either True crime or Conspiracy theories
· Write a summary of the podcast or interview a friend regarding each other’s podcasts.
· Write a script individually or in pairs on exam.net during the lessons
· Read your script several times and try to improve your text, pay attention to grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
· Prepare for the recording session
· Record your presentation by using the app “Opinion” or by downloading Simple Audio Recorder or Simple Audio Voice Sound Recorder
· Send in your presentation
What should be included in your script?
· An introduction
· A content
· A conclusion
Your Podcast must include AT LEAST one song, for 20 seconds.
· Try to use as many “linking words” as you can. You have a list of several linking words on Teams. However, do not overuse them. Linking words will help you structure the text as well as adding to the formality.
· Try to vary your language, do not use the same word over and over and over and over and over again.
Suggestions on topics you can talk about
· Something you love for example a sport, a piece of music
· A person that has affected your life somehow
· A happy memory
· What you dream about
· A sad memory
· A special trip
· Some memory from your childhood
· A global event/crisis
· Something that makes you happy
· Something that makes you sad
Plan or schedule
You will have
· Three lessons to write the script.
· One lesson to process and work through everything you have written.
One lesson to record your presentation.
