The Environment

Temat för den tredje sektionen är miljö. I texterna behandlas bland annat klimatförändringar, orsaker till temperaturökningarna och vilken effekt dessa har på olika djurs livsvillkor. Här finns också texter om regnskogarnas betydelse för klimatet. Organisationen The Green Belt Movement och dess grundare som fick Nobels fredspris för sina insatser beskrivs.
Under året 2019 har klimataktivist Greta Thunberg fått väldig mycket uppmärksamhet för bl.a hennes skolstrejk för klimatet och mycket annat. Gretas engagemang har varit mål för mycket diskussion och debatt.

Tanken är dels att ge eleverna användbara ord och fraser, dels ge dem ökade kunskaper inom ämnesområdet så att de kan diskutera och uttrycka sina åsikter i miljöfrågor.

.Working with this section will involve the following:

Read texts that are focusing on different aspect of the environment. You will have the opportunity to work with your classmates and teachers to really grasp the texts and learn new words and phrases.

You will participate in discussions based on the new information you have gained and also be able to speak your own opinion and listen to others.

Different types of listening. You will hear the spoken language in the classroom – both teachers and fellow students; listening to the texts being read to you; specific listening comprehensions; watching a movie.
