It is finally happening. It is now up to us to save the world! You might ask yourself, what are we saving ourselves from? You might have heard about it; it is called the climate crisis! Global warming and its effects are gruesome toward us and Mother Earth. To save our children from a horrible future we need to act, NOW. Though, how are we to do it? Well, we need to educate ourselves as well as the people around us. Knowledge is power, guard it well and spread it to the world! Global warming is affecting the entire world, no one can deny it (not even Donald Trump). We have already started to see its effects here in Sweden, warmer summers, less rain and rising sea levels. However, the effects are clear to see in the English-speaking countries as well, if you have seen the news recently, the fires in Australia are causing dramatic changes to the environment, all animals as well as to the inhabitants in the country. Therefore, you will choose one of the topics of climate change and compare the effects here in Sweden with an English-speaking country. Also, you will briefly research what both countries are doing to hinder, slow down or even stop global warming. All of this will end up with two different examinations, one written part and a presentation. The written part will be in the format of a rapport of your findings. The structure will be part of a future lecture and a how-to-guide will be given to you. You will have to include each source you use as well as source-criticism. The text will have to be between 1000-1500 words. The presentation will be performed in smaller groups; the length should be between 3-4min and you HAVE to create a Powerpoint with facts and pictures that explain and summarize your findings. During the others’ presentations, you will not sit idle by waiting for your turn. Instead, everyone will have to take notes from everyone’s presentation. After the lesson, you will need to summarize and compromise your notes into a written text where you briefly inform the reader of what you comprehended during the presentations.
