Music

The topic of the first couple of weeks will be music. We all like music, so I hope you will enjoy it! We will work with Wings textbook and workbook, but also some other material. You are going to learn about different music styles and instruments in English, understand people who talk about music and write a text about music.

 

 

The plan:

·        Listening comprehension:

Ø Textbook p.11: Rehearsal for an audition.

We listen together to the band and answer the questions in the book.

·        Vocabulary:

Ø Textbook p. 12-13, choose 30 new words

Ø Workbook p. 163: Att arbeta med ord och fraser.

Learn the words with the help of these useful tips.

·        Reading comprehension:

Ø Textbook p. 14-15: The story of U2.

We listen together to the text.

Read the text on your own.

Read the text in pairs for each other. Do it twice.

Ø Workbook p. 10 ex. 7: True or false

Write in your notebook if the statements are true or false.

·        Speaking:

Ø Workbook p. 14 ex. 17: An interview

Use the questions in the exercise and interview 2-3 classmates about their musical taste. Write down the answers.

·        Reading comprehension:

Ø Textbook p. 16-17: My music isn´t yours

We listen to the text together.

Read the text on your own.

Read the text in pairs. Do it twice.

·        Vocabulary:

Ø Workbook p. 9 ex. 5: Useful phrases and discussions

Find the answers to the questions in the text and write them in your notebook.

·        Writing:

Ø Workbook p.17 ex. 25: Another story

Write a story using words from the list of words on p.12 in your textbook.

·        Reading comprehension:

Ø Textbook p. 19-21: The Idol phenomenon

We listen to the text together.

Read the text on your own.

Read the text in pairs.

·        Speaking:

Ø Role play: A musical or An interview
