Comparing and Translating Swedish and English

Last year, grade 6 compared Swedish and English in writing. This year, they will continue to compare the two languages, but they'll also focus more on translation; something which is key to well-developed bilingualism.

In short, what the criteria expect is that each pupil be able to explain the differences and similarities between English and Swedish by comparing and translating words and phrases. 

First the pupils will work on comparing and translating the languages. To this end, I'll allow them to make discoveries of their own and then supplement their knowledge myself. Eventually there will be a test where the pupils will translate a short text and explain some of the differences and similarities based on this text. This shouldn't be stressful, as the pupils should already be familiar with most of the words and expressions in the text, based on our lessons. 

All material provided will be in the Dyslexie-font, which is a specially developed font to fascilitate reading for everyone.
