Aspekt 1
Identify and structure your own and classmates' speech by using Monroe's Motivated Sequence (MMS).
I need help to identify and structure my own and a classmate’s speech using MMS.
I am unable to structure the speech topic, the main content and details, even with help.
I use MMS in my own speech in a subtle way to have a clear structure. I have the MMS sequence in order.
I can also give a classmate feedback on how to improve their MMS structure.
Ny aspekt
Use speech techniques and inversions grammar to improve fluency and formality
I cannot use speech techniques and/or inversions, or I use them incorrectly in my speech.
My speech is informal because of inappropriate use of curses, contractions or slang.
I use a relaxed body language and improve my fluency by using one or two inversions at the beginning and/or at the end of my speech.
I control my pitch and vary my tone to make my speech more flexible. I avoid informal slang or curses.
Ny aspekt
Use cue cards as
support to improve balance.
I have either not prepared or do not use cue cards to improve the balance and structure of my speech.
I read from a script which makes me stutter and lack smooth transitions. I lose eye contact.
I balance my speech and make it smooth by using the cue cards and key words as support.
I have practiced my speech and I keep eye contact most of the time.
Ny aspekt
Design a motivating speech by yourself, and with others, using correct grammar, a precise, varied vocabulary and sentence structures.
My speech uses simple and occasionally incorrect grammar, has low variety and/or too advanced words that don’t fit properly. I use repetitive sentence structures.
I use correct and more complex grammar. My vocabulary fits the topic and has variation; I do not repeat the same words as this makes my English more nuanced.
I also use precise words to avoid being too basic but also too unfamiliar to my audience. I also vary the way I make my sentences.
