Peace Day / Fredsdagen

In celebration of Peace Day we will shed a light on what peace means, what it means for the children personally and how we can work to promote it both in the preschool and in the rest of society.

WHAT?

Peace Day is the day we celebrate the ideals of peace and promote it's values in hopes of a better, more peaceful future. To make sure that the children will understand the meaning of Peace we will be working on the subject with them for a few days before our celebration.

HOW?

To celebrate Peace Day we will talk about the word "peace" and what it entails. We will be discussing the word through the material below as well as having discussions in the group during cicrle time and throughout different situations that might arise during the days.  The theme will end with a celebration together with the other groups in the preschool where our group will perform the song we linked below. 

WHY?

As the curriculum describes we are supposed to shape democratic individuals who will go on to be productive and democratic members of our society. Thus working with the concept of peace, a democratic value, is important for the work we are doing with the children.

VAD?

Fredsdagen är den dag då vi firar idealen av fredens innebörd och främja dess värderingar i hoppet om en bättre, mer fredsam framtid. För att se till att barnen förstår innebörden av ordet "fred" så kommer vi att arbeta med ämnet med de i några dagar innan vårt firande. 

HUR?

För att fira Fredsdagen så kommer vi att prata om ordet "fred" och vad det innebär. Vi kommer att diskutera ordet genom det material vi nämner nedan samt genom att diskussioner i gruppen under samlingen och i vardagssituationer som uppkommer under dagarna. Temat avslutas med ett firande tillsammans med den andra grupperna på förskolan där vår grupp kommer att uppträda med sången vi länkat till längre ned i detta inlägg.

VARFÖR?

Läroplanen beskriver en skyldighet till att utveckla och forma demokratiska individer som senare blir till produktiva och demokratiska medborgare i vårt samhälle. Därmed är ett arbete med konceptet om fred, en demokratisk värdering, en viktigt del av det arbete som vi gör med barnen.
