Learn how to tell the time.

Objectives: To be able to tell the time

• How do you tell time to the nearest half hour and quarter hour?
• How do you use A.M. and P.M. when saying the time?
• The 24-hr clock
• Different ways of saying and writing time
• How do you estimate time?
• Telling time to the nearest minute using a clock
• Elapsed time  - what is it and how do you calculate it?

Lessons:

• Work with Scott Foresman Mathematics (grade 3) Chapter 4 (4.1 - 4.3). Each section involves teaching from the teacher's manual, students working independently, in pairs or as whole class in individual workbooks, followed by discussions as questions develop.

Assessment:

• Each section is accompanied with a section review and diagnostic checkpoint.
