Agenda 2030 project

Grade 3-5

 

Dear students this year we have a new topic to work on in the whole of Härryda kommun.

We will be working with Agenda 2030 and the global 17 goals.

We have 10 years to complete the work that has already started to make this world a better place in the future.

 

Instructions

 

• First we will look at some You Tube clips to get a better picture of what Agenda 2030 is all about.
• You will receive the pictures of the goals and have to write what they are called in English and what they mean. You can work together with a friend or by yourself by looking them up on the internet.
• We will go through each goal on the whiteboard and talk about what we think they mean.
•  
• We will then discuss the goals and which ones you think are interesting to work with.
•  
• You may choose 3 goals to work on.
  
•  
• You can search for information on the internet, you may even like to interview people or family members.
•  
• You can work to make a Google or Keynote presentation, using slides to show your work.
•  
• The younger students may like to design posters instead with my help
•  
• First write the title of the project on your poster, then choose 3 goals that you would like to draw and write about.
•  
• Groups 1, 8 and 10,  will read a little in Greta Thurnberg's book about Climate Change. "No one is too small to make a difference"

Goals

 

To read with more care and attention, and with a better speed/ practice by searching information on the internet and by reading Greta Thurnberg's book "No one is too small to make a difference".

 

To write correctly, and in a structured form/possibly even in note form to accompany your presentation or to write correctly on your posters.

 

To be able to speak and discuss your opinions using a varied language to express yourself.

 

To learn and investigate about Agenda 2030 and to form an opinion of what you think the world is accomplishing towards the 17 global goals.

 

To practice presenting your work to your class.

 

To become more accustomed to working with different projects in English.

Syfte

• formulera sig och kommunicera i tal och skrift,
• använda sitt modersmål som ett medel för sin språkutveckling och sitt lärande,
• läsa och analysera skönlitteratur och andra texter för olika syften, och

• Muntligt berättande för olika mottagare.
• Ord och begrepp för att uttrycka känslor, kunskaper och åsikter.
• Lässtrategier för att förstå och tolka texter från olika medier samt för att urskilja texters budskap, både det uttalade och sådant som står mellan raderna.
• Ordböcker och andra hjälpmedel för stavning och ordförståelse.
• Muntliga presentationer för olika mottagare.
• Berättande texter och poetiska texter för barn och unga i form av skönlitteratur, lyrik, sagor och myter från olika tider och områden där modersmålet talas. Berättande och poetiska texter som belyser människors villkor, identitets- och livsfrågor.
