English year 9: Short Stories

During the following four weeks you will work with reading and analyzing different short stories, as a way to practice your reading comprehension skills and to receive a better understanding of the structure of a short story. In the end of this project, you will discuss the texts in an oral seminar in groups and get a writing assignment based on the short stories that you have read.

Why:

To practice your reading comphrenension by reading, discussing and analyzing three different short stories. As well as practicing your reading skills, you will also practice your speaking and writing skills by discussing the short stories in groups as well as write about the content of the stories.

How:

Week 6:
Work with the short story A Showel with my name on it

Week 7:
Work with the short story Lamb to the Slaughter

Week 8:
Work with the short story All Summer in a Day

Week 10:
Oral seminar and written test short stories
